About

Hey everyone!

Claire: Full Time Bitch

bwithbooks

I’m Claire! I’m a 25 year old museum worker that recently finished an MSc in Visual/material/museum anthropology (say that 5 times fast, I dare you). I’m from The Bahamas but I’ve studied in Canada, the USA and the UK! I’m ready to leave The Bahamas now though, and I’d like a job in the culture sector somewhere-not-here. My dream is to be a curator or academic or stay-at-home-blogger (I don’t know if I have the stamina for that though, blogging is serious work!).

What else is there to say? Pokemon Red enthusiast, Harry Potter, ASOIAF and Sailor Jupiter-Mars-Uranus-Neptune-Pluto-Saturn-Mercury die hard (OK, so, I don’t like the blonde senshi). I love geek culture, nerd culture and book culture (fantasy-ya-dystopian-literature-historical-nonfiction-kickassfemaleprotagonists). I hoard bubble tea (green tea-lemon!).

My mottos in life: Chill the fuck out and One must always have an attitude.

I see nothing wrong with being called a bitch and proudly own up to the word. I’m a bitch for books, what could be better?

About the Blog:

bwblogo

I (Claire) started the blog in June 2012 after I realised I was talking to my friends a bit too much about the books I’d loved and hated. I heard B*tches In Bookshops by La Shea Delaney & Annabelle Quezada and that cinched it, I had to start a book blog!

I try to post at least twice a week but to be honest, I tend to post when I feel like it or if I have time inbetween my schooling. But I do post a variety of stuff, currently my favourite posts are the Casting Director (where I dream up an imaginary cast for a book to film adaptation) and Oxford Diaries series. I’m big into writing about my Obsessions as well. I do also post the following:

We are not accepting reviews requests at this time.

  10. We at The Gloria Sirens love what you’re doing here. We promote women’s voices in the arts, and we’re always looking for smart sirens. You’ve got a real engaging persona going on, very smart, honest, and industrious. Love it. I nominated you for the “Lighthouse Award,” for waht it’s worth, whatever that is, but it’s sweet. More info about that is here http://elisabethlanserrose.com/2014/01/05/lighthouse-award/ More power to you–keep reading and writing.
