A Betrayal and A(nother) Switch

Okay, I realise I am completely going back on my word for “no more changes” to the Book Club Book, but…well, here we are. It’s better for everyone this way.

NEW BOOK. FINAL BOOK. (But can you even trust me any more? I duno. But cut me some slack, it’s been a weird month and I wasn’t really feeling the last switch.):

Merricat Blackwood lives on the family estate with her sister Constance and her Uncle Julian. Not long ago there were seven Blackwoods—until a fatal dose of arsenic found its way into the sugar bowl one terrible night. Acquitted of the murders, Constance has returned home, where Merricat protects her from the curiosity and hostility of the villagers. Their days pass in happy isolation until cousin Charles appears. Only Merricat can see the danger, and she must act swiftly to keep Constance from his grasp.

I’m excited about this one guys 8)

Good luck! And hopefully you’ll like this one (the cover looks brill, reminds me of Chris Priestley’s illustrations slightly.

Thanks! ^^;; I think I will. I just discovered her this year and, having read The Lottery and The Haunting of Hill House, I think it’s a good pick for both of us. Oh!? I’ll look up Chris Priestley! The first thing that came to my mind was a more ‘realistic’ Edward Gorey.
