Harry Potter Re-Read

Obsessed

So now that the #BookADayUK posts are done, Nikki and I will settle into some usual blogging business. Not to stray too far from the fun, however, I am joining a Re-Read challenge! I’ve never done anything of this sort and it’ll be fun! Yes? This challenge is hosted by The Book Journey and I highly recommend you join as well if you’re interested in the Harry Potter series (having never read them) or interested in reading them (if you have!).

Seventh Years:  You have read all of the Harry Potter booksg2b

I am a 7th year participant, meaning I’ve read all of the books. I’m signed up as a Ravenclaw, so I’m hoping to get my house some serious points! The premise of the read-a-long is to engage with all things Potter. So expect me to write a few continuations to the Harry Potter series I already have going on (such as Harry Potter and the Blanket of Ashes, Platform 9 3/4, and my angry letter to Dumbledore, actually, just check out my Harry Potter tag).

From The Book Journey:
Throughout our 5 months allowed for the Re-Read there will be dates to discuss the book, add your posts, or add comments to the new tab I will have right below the Book Journey Header.  You can pop in whenever you want to add your thoughts, look for new contests, etc… check back often – not everything will be posted and I want to keep this as lose as unstructured as possible as that is where I thrive best.

Why Ravenclaw?g2c

And though I am Team Ravenclaw, I am acknowledging my other side: Slytherin. My little cousin keeps laughing at this but every test I do (I’ve made 5 Pottermore accounts and got Slytherin EVERY single darn time) and other less-authentic tests (such as the Buzzfeed one), they always come back to the same conclusion, I’m a Slytherin. HOWEVER! The Sorting Hat takes into consideration where you’d like to be, and I’ve always thought of myself as a Ravenclaw, so, there it is, I’m entering this Read-A-Long as a Ravenclaw. I see nothing wrong with Slytherin, nothing, I exemplify many, if not all of the house’s traits, but I’d prefer to be a Ravenclaw, thanks. I’d probably be a stalemate like Harry, sitting there for a while while the hat and I wrestle internally.

So there it is. Join the Read-A-Long! Yay!

I like your conflict with your house selection! I figured if I were completely honest, I’d be Hufflepuff, though I liked the idea of Griffindor. I took the Buzzfeed quiz and got Griffindor, so that’s where I am. I should take the Pottermore quiz and see what it says!

  9. I love it that you didn’t stick with what everything classified you as, lol! I’ve been placed in Ravenclaw twice on the random quizzes, but I always end up in Slytherin which is where I’m comfortable. My boyfriend is the opposite of me, mostly Ravenclaw with a few Slytherin tendencies. We have a nice balance going. I hope you enjoy the re-read and I’ll definitely have to look at your other posts!

  10. Great to have you at Hogwarts! We are going to have a lot of fun!

  11. As a first year Hufflepuff, I’m scared of you! LOL! This readalong is a lot of fun. I’m enjoying reading everyone’s sign up post. This is going to be great.

I’m really excited for this readalong. Have fun! Pottermore put me into Hufflepuff, but I’ve taken other quizzes and chosen for myself to read for Gryffindor.

Yayyyy go team Ravenclaw! I’m excited that you’re also a 7th year and have so much HP love. I’m a serious Potterhead too, so I’m most excited to meet fellow fanatics 🙂
