#BookADayUK 15: Best home in literature

Vlcsnap-2013-05-19-19h49m07s0Must we ask? Must? Must you question this?! I want a Hobbit hole too!

All my favourite literary houses seem to be from fantasy which isn’t a genre I read tons of so that tells you a lot about fantasy houses: they are frickin’ BOSS. I hate to name one from a book I’ve already mentioned, but I’m going to have to go with Abhorsen’s house in the Old Kingdom (…from the Abhorsen series). It is a beautiful, white stone fortress-villa with tall walls built on a chunk of land in the middle of a river so it’s well protected from evil due to the running water that surrounds it. It also has lots of cool things inside like an awesome library and observatory and magic helpers. A plush, pretty, pragmatic choice, if I do say so myself.
