The Secret Life Of Book Bloggers: Bookish Pen-Pals

PenPals

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share this with everyone! I was inspired by Oh! Chrys’ Bookish Christmas, and if it is one thing I’ve come to appreciate and enjoy since going back to school, it is a good old fashioned postcard.

What is it?
This is a postcard swap for book bloggers/reviewers. The purpose of this is to get to know some book lovers the good, old fashioned way. It’s a general postcard so matching won’t be based on your likes or dislikes, though I will make some attempt to have similar genre tastes matched! I can’t guarantee anything though, so please don’t get too huffy?

After you’ve swapped a postcard you can keep sending letters or you can say, pfft! To hell with it! I’m going to do this again maybe, next month? Based on how well this goes, maybe we can have this often!

Who can join in?
Well everyone of course! It’s an international postcard swap (postcards are pretty cheap to send so I hope that it’s OK if it’s an international one!).

Is there anything I have to do?
Well, you’ve just got to send a postcard and fill our the form below. Now, I want it to be known that I don’t tolerate bullshit, so if anyone negates on the sending of their postcard and the intended-receiver complains, no future postcard love for you. I also, don’t tolerate silly squabbles about oh, you didn’t like the postcard or the person and so on, because it’s a swap. If you’re not feeling pen-palish, I don’t imagine you’re obligated to send anymore!

Also, people (and I feel that I have to say this because I’ve been in a few swaps and been surprised), do not be rude, disrespectful, include nudity, foul language or anything in this postcard. Let’s all have excellent first impressions!

Ps. Post in some countries can be incredibly slow, so if you don’t get your postcard immediately, don’t think that you’ve been forgotten.

When? Huh?
Deadline to Sign-up: November 15 (2 weeks today)
Postcard Matching Email Sent: November 17
Deadline to Send: November 24 (1 week after matching)

Rules

  1. Be a book blogger or reviewer on a website (Amazon, Goodreads, etc).
  2. Send postcard by November 24.
  3. You can include as much or as little about yourself as you’d like, because some real names will be involved here, I promise discretion on my end.
  4. This is a general postcard swap, so no preferences are allowed.
  5. Slander, rude postcards, nudity or foul language are not allowed.
  6. Have fun?
  7. Oh yes, seriously, have fun!

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for lost mail or anything offensive sent. If you haven’t gotten a postcard in 3 to 4 weeks though, let me know because I might have a spare I can send you!
