Dear Friends, Fellow Bitches, Readers and Potterheads,
Today I embark on a journey I didn’t think I’d make. Tonight I’m stepping on a plane and will emerge in a different time zone, climate and currency, 8 hours later. I’ve been a student for a long time. I’ve lived in Victoria, Vancouver, Northampton, MA, DC and so on. I know what it is to move. Yet this time something is different? Before I was running from my home. Everyone here knows that I’m Bahamian and I have a love-hate relationship with my country. It’s home, my culture is steeped into my roots, but there are times when I can’t take it and I look forward to moving.
This time it is different, I have so much to stay home for and as such, I know I should be brave but I am terrified. Funny how at 16, I ran onto that plane and didin’t look back but at 24 I’ve got to be dragged to it! A big thank you to the well-wishers and calming sentiments from my fellow bloggers! It means the world! I know this post is totally melodramatic, but what else can you expect at Bitches With Books?! So as such, this will be my last post till next week Wednesday (I hope I can bust one out then!). I’ve got a plane to catch, orientation to dig into and get used to the fact that I-Won’t-See-My-Beloved-Sun for a whole year!
