I don’t do this blogging thing for popularity and hits, but I must admit that it feels good when I’ve written something that I’m particularly proud of and people like it.
So obviously you’ve got to take this list with a grain of salt. Older posts will receive more hits and newer posts won’t. I’m not really surprised at this list, though I am pretty chuffed to see my Dumbledore Letter make it because (1) this post is fairly recent and (2) I had so much darn fun writing it!
There are a number of Happy Hour posts as well, even though my Happy Hour series was easily, my least popular series (and also least favourite, I got tired of making drinks and waking up with headaches!).
My Favourite Posts
The following list documents my favourite posts- which are really, the posts that I had the most fun writing, planning and executing. In general, I love doing this but there are some posts and days when I really have to force myself to churn something out. And you can tell, those posts aren’t well liked.
- (3) My Hogwarts Course Load (And The Classes I Hexed)
- (2) A Letter To Dumbledore: Where’s My Damn Letter?
- (1) Harry Potter And The Blanket Of Ashes
- Review: The Other Side of Paradise
- Lessons From My Father
- 15 Day Book Challenge: Day 6
- Literary Listings: We’ve Got More Bling Than Sauron
- Literary Listings: Geeky For The History Of Things
- No-Sew Book Semi-Tutorial
- Review: Seraphina (Seraphina #1)
Well… clearly I am a Potterhead. The Harry Potter posts were the best, I was actually giggling as I wrote them!
I don’t know what makes a good post, or what makes a popular one. Obviously, things like an exciting writing style contribute to those factors. Visitors also seem to like lists, lots and lots of lists. Those are a bit of a pain to do because of the amount of configuring they require, but they sure are fun to devise! Themed posts (LOTR, Harry Potter, HF, History) also create a niche with readers.
I’ve got to ask: Do you have any posts that you particularly enjoyed from BWB?
