Book to Movie Challenge

Another week of Reading Challenge plans and preparations being had. One more after this I promise! Links take you to either Amazon or GoodReads- your choice.

Who? Book To Movie Challenge
When? January to December 2013
What? I’m a huge movie buff, disgustingly so actually. I especially love movies that are based on books, most of the time I end up disappointed but sometimes I am thrilled (LOTR + Harry Potter for example). I have to do this challenge!
Level? Movie Lover (Read 9 books and watch their movies). Below are my proposed reads.

Movie Lover (9 books + 9 films):

  1. The Sea of Monsters
  2. City of Bones (View Review)
  3. Catching Fire
  4. World War Z (View Review)
  5. The Help
  6. The Lovely Bones (View Review)
  7. The Lightning Thief
  8. The Host (View Review)
  9. Warm Bodies

There you have it folks, my 12 books that I plan to read for the Book to Movie Challenge. Expect reviews, updates and progress reports! Did you join this challenge? What is your favourite book to movie?

Great challenge! Which do you prefer – book or movie first? I did an AFI Top 100 movies challenge but wouldn’t finish them until I read some of the classic books first (like Grapes of Wrath, which of course was well worth the wait). I think I prefer it that way but it depends.

This looks like a fun challenge! I recently decided to start keeping track of the movies I’ve seen where I’ve read the book first (or vice versa). The last one was Scarlet Pimpernel. It’s an old movie, but a good one!

That looks like a great list! I really liked The Help although I think Anna Karenina is probably the best book to movie translation I’ve seen so far 🙂
